WOW! We still cannot get over how unbelievable the weekend was!

The Third I Festival was set up to achieve another important I and that was Impact.

Our desire was to create a feeling that sits within us well beyond the three days and create a movement for good. It is needless to say that for the numerous people who got to experience the Festivals purpose it has done that.
The Third I Festival was developed to give voices to people who needed them and to have them be the spokespeople to create lasting change for their communities.
It was designed to attract the best in class and to allow these incredible, diverse and inspirational people to show us all the talents and skills that exist and how they all are collectively creating change and impact.

We celebrated, we cried, we felt represented and heard all through so many people sharing their stories.

The Third I Festival supported and featured over 100 artists, musicians, DJs, performers and chefs across more than 20 venues and hosted over 36 different events.
Across free and ticketed events over the 3 day period, we had 2,800 attendees experience the impact of the Third I messaging. Our events featured live music, food from over 10 countries, masterclasses with some of Sydney’s best bartenders and 20 subject matter experts sharing their insights and thoughts on issues facing our community.
We were lucky enough to be able to showcase the talents and skills of artists who represented the three Is perfectly with more than 40 Indigenous artists, more than 30 Asylum Seekers and Migrants, more than 10 living with disability and the remainder from the Inner West.

ARTiculate

Our ARTiculate series sold more than 10 artworks across an 8-hour exhibition with many artists including Oliver.. (artwork below) selling out all their paintings displayed.
We were able to host the most unique exhibition with more than 4 contributing galleries collaboratively working, a major installation on display and live artworks symbolising healing and welcoming from our Traditional Custodians of the Land and New Australians. ARTiculate hosted more than 3 hours of conversations with artists all able to discuss their artworks and express themselves through their paintings and words.

Event Impact

The three-day festival created 147 unique shifts directly for events in conjunction with the Third I Festival. These shifts were spread across more than 40 staff members, many of them from underestimated communities and a lot who were long-term unemployed, Asylum Seekers and other skilled and talented individuals facing barriers entering the job market.
Not only did the Third I Festival exceed this it also allowed for communities to work and support each other and these three Is have collaborated to provide funds that will feed up to 10,000 people from these Three I’s who are suffering from Food Insecurity and other difficulties.

Thank You!

We thank Destination NSW for their support in allowing us to bring such an impact-led movement to thousands of people and support so many who needed help after a difficult year, including our First Nations communities, artists who had no gigs as well as dozens of businesses and PlateitForward, Third I Events and the Third I Festival look forward to a long-term, community-led partnership to create voices, jobs, revenue and hope for our society.
Thank you to our supporters Deputy, Colin Biggers and Paisley Legal, Atomic Brewery, Vivcourt, Young Henry’s and the 15 community organisations that we were able to work to donate tickets to so the people who needed to be in the room could be as well as all participating venues for their time and efforts, the 20 panellists and multiple artists who were raw, real and exposed their vulnerabilities and strength to inspire us all.

See You Next Year!
